Short History
In 500 years before Christ the Canarii arrived to Gran Canaria and named it TamarĂ¡n. After more then a century off attempts at conquest, the island was conquered for the Spain, supported by Queen Isabella I in 1483. This was a very important step towards and expanded Spain. The greatest role it played was at the time of Cristopher Columbus, while it was a stop on the road to the New World.
